"Cheap Credit" governmental program

The aim of the "Cheap Credit" program is the creation of new enterprises, regional touristic infrastructure, and agriculture, development of folk production and creation of new jobs by making cheap credits more accessible for entrepreneurs.

117 projects were financed by the project in 2008, overall volume of the credit 62.4 million GEL; 17 projects were financed in 2009 and the volume of the credit was 2.5 million GEL.

Credits were issued for the realms of agriculture, recycling enterprises folk production and tourism.


Successfully executed projects:

Tkibuli Tea

  • Activities: Tea Production
  • Location: Imereti, Tkibuli
  • Amount of Credit: 350 000 GEL

The factory building was roofed and repaired, the territory was fenced, and the installations were purchased including the packing machine.

The boiler-house and other devices were repaired, a generator was purchased. The factory produces during the season. In 2008-2009, 335 tons of green tea leaves was processed.


LTD “Elita”

  • Activities: Potting Factory
  • Location: Suarmi
  • Amount of Credit: 250 000 GEL

This is former Surami potting factory. The building of the mentioned enterprise has been rehabilitated.

The enterprise is completely rehabilitated and equipped. Two new Boiling-hose and a storage house are built and functioning.



Individual Entrepreneur “Beglar Mikeladze”

  • Activities: production of raspberry and bilberry goods
  • Location: Adjara, Khelachauri
  • Amount of Product: 200 000 GEL

Repairs were made on 200 sq.m. area. 

Infrared drying machine for vegetables was purchased and installed, conventional drying closet and (for material preservation) material inspection lines were installed (for permanent quality control.) On tap machinery for juice and other substances and vacuum-packing machines were installed. The storage house is ready to operate.


LTD “NEOPRINT”

  • Activities: Paper Manufacturing
  • Location: Mtskheta-Tianeti, Tserovani
  • Amount of Credit: 990 000 GEL

The factory and the administrative buildings have been constructed.
Paper manufacturing devices have been purchased and installed.
Refugees are employed in the factory.





LTD “Narinji Fruit Company”

  • Activities: Recycling fruit
  • Location: Adjara, Khulo
  • Amount of Credit: 1 000 000 GEL

Modern factory and buildings were built.
Tangerine assorting enterprise was built.
A device producing concentrates and juices was also bought.




Individual Entrepreneur “Temur Gegashvili Kera”

  • Activities: Trout agriculture
  • Location: Inner Kartli, Gori
  • Amount of Credit: 120 000 GEL

The trout agriculture was spread, pools that were damaged were rehabilitated, and sturgeon and trout lavra and food was bought.
The population living in the conflict zone will be employed in the enterprise.

Cheap Credit

  • Program Budget in 2009 - 20.0 million GEL

Following conditions of credit grant are determined within the framework of program:

  • volume of credits: more than 20 000 GEL
  • term of credit use: maximum 7 years
  • interest rate: maximum 12 percentage for physical and juridical persons, 2 percentage for banks
  • grace period: under 2 years

Credit is granted by the government of Georgia:

  • To build a slaughter-house of cattle (reproduction of primary meat ) - 2 166.0 thousands GEL
  • To build an economy for preservation of fruits and vegetables - 7 000.0 thousands GEL

Legal entity of public law “fund of municipal development of Georgia” implements documental monitoring and provides information Ministry of Economic Development of Georgia monthly and quarterly

Ministry of Economic Development of Georgia, for its part, implements the evaluation of ongoing projects, plans work meetings in entrepreneurships.
